On Sunday, 8 November Discovery Cove will be offering complimentary day-resort admission to the first 250 individuals to register as full-week conference attendees.

Please note: Daily conference registrants, those who register beyond the first 250 full-week attendees, and guests of attendees (spouse, children, etc.) will have access to reduced day resort admission along with opportunities to upgrade to additional experiences at reduced rates on a space-available basis.

FAQ

Are reservations required?

Yes. Once the first 250 registrants are identified, those individuals will automatically receive an email from Discovery Cove with information on how to make your reservation. This correspondence will not happen until the first 250 attendees are all registered – this means that it could be several months until you receive this communication.

If I am one of the first 250 attendees to register and have a reservation in my name, can I gift it to someone else?

The complimentary visit to Discovery Cove is non-transferable. A valid government-issue photo identification must be presented upon arrival at Discovery Cove and must match the name on your conference registration.

How will I know if I am one of the first 250 week-long registrants?

These information pages will be updated once complimentary Discovery Cove admissions have reached capacity. Additionally, the number of remaining reservations will show during the online conference registration process.

What if I didn’t register in time to receive the free admission to Discovery Cove?

Those who register beyond the first 250 attendees will have access to reduced day-resort admission to Discovery Cove along with opportunities to upgrade to add-on experiences at reduced rates on a space available basis. Those eligible will receive an email directly from Discovery Cove.

I’m only registering for the conference for a few days – not the full week. Am I eligible for the complimentary visit to Discovery Cove?

The complimentary Discovery Cove day-resort visit is only offered to the first 250 conference attendees who have registered for the full-week. Daily conference attendees will have access to reduced day resort admission along with opportunities to upgrade to additional experiences (also at reduced rates) on a space available basis. Those eligible will receive an email directly from Discovery Cove.

My spouse and children are traveling with me but aren’t registered for the conference. Can they enjoy Discovery Cove with me?

Family of registered conference attendees will have access to reduced day resort admission at Discovery Cove along with opportunities to upgrade to additional experiences at reduced rates on a space available basis. Those eligible will receive an email directly from Discovery Cove.

When can I expect to receive an email from Discovery Cove?

Direct correspondence from Discovery Cove will not begin until ALL of the first 250 full-week attendees have completed their registration. That’s said, it’s possible that outreach from Discovery Cove could possibly not begin until the end of summer.

I won’t be in Orlando on 8 November. Can I use this offer on another date?

No. Discovery Cove has set aside availability on 8 November only – this is the only date the opportunity is valid.

If my conference registration is for the full-week, am I required to take part in the Discovery Cove day?

Those wishing to forgo the Discovery Cove experience should simply click the “not attending” button during online registration.

I won’t be in Orlando on 8 November. Can I use this offer on another date?

No. Discovery Cove has set aside availability for IMATA guests on 8 November only – this is the only date the opportunity is valid.

What if I am waiting to register for the conference once I arrive in Orlando?

Complimentary Discovery Cove admission is only available to the first 250 attendees who register online and in advance. Those attendees who intend to register for the conference onsite may have access to reduced day-resort admission to Discovery Cove along with opportunities to upgrade to add-on experiences at reduced rates on a space available basis. Please inquire about remaining availability upon in-person conference registration at the conference hotel.

What’s included in “day-resort” admission to Discovery Cove?

The day-resort visit at Discovery Cove is all-inclusive. Therefore, admission includes the use of lockers, wetsuit, towels and mask during your stay, free parking at Discovery Cove, shower amenities, souvenir snorkel, food, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and select beers and wines, access to the Explorer's Aviary, The Grand Reef®, Freshwater Oasis®, Serenity Bay,  Wind-Away River, and Flamingo Point. Attendees select which activities they would like to participate in.

Are meals included in the day at Discovery Cove?

Food, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and select beers and wines are included. No outside food, beverages or coolers are permitted.

What if I have food allergies?

Upon arriving to Discovery Cove’s “Laguna Grill” please proceed to the restaurant exit and ask to speak with a culinary supervisor or chef to discuss the severity of your allergens and help determine a meal that will be safe for you. Please note that not all of Discovery Cove’s meal facilities are free from cross contact. To ensure your meal is safe, please discuss the preparation process for your meal with the supervisor as you place your order to ensure no cross-contact takes place. Alternatively, Discovery Cove offers several allergen friendly prepackaged items for your special dietary needs (based on availability).

Is swimming with dolphins included in the day resort admission?

Dolphin swims are not included with day resort admission. IMATA attendees will have the option to add-on dolphin interactions at a discounted rate (based on availability). Details about adding-on additional activities will be available in as we get closer to the event.

What are the operating hours of Discovery Cove?

Discovery Cove is a full day adventure with operating hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily. Check-in for day resort guests begins at 7:15 AM.

Is transportation provided to/from Discovery Cove?

Transportation to/from Discovery Cove is “on your own.”

Can I walk from the conference hotel to Discovery Cove?

While it is possible to walk from the hotel to Discovery Cove, we recommend using rideshare or taxi.

What should I bring with me?

Guests should bring their own swimsuits, and, if they choose, water socks or rubber pool shoes, hat, sunglasses and cover-up or dry clothes. Discovery Cove provides all guests with swim vests and/or wetsuits. Except for watches and wedding bands, Discovery Cove guests may not wear jewelry, for the safety of the animals.

Discovery Cove provides a mask and snorkel, towels and beach chairs. Guests may use their own masks and snorkels, if they prefer, but may not bring any other diving or swimming equipment into the park. Discovery Cove will also provide guests with a sample of specially formulated sunscreen that is safe for use in the animal habitats. Since meals, snacks and beverages are provided with admission to Discovery Cove, no other food, beverages or coolers are permitted. Guests may wish to bring books and magazines, a music player with headset or similar items to help them relax on the beach, and a camera to catch all their special moments.
